About 3D Championship 2010
Being run at the same superb venue, Croft Farm Waterpark in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, the major 3D helicopter competition in the UK will take place between the 24th and the 26th of September 2010 (remember, remember, the last weekend of September!).
We will once again be using the competition format that we developed last year with the help of a group of excellent people (thank you, you all know who you are). This has now been cryptically named “3D Format” and can be looked over at your leisure on www.3dformat.co.uk.
If you haven’t yet made it to one of the 3D Championship events, you can catch up with some of what you missed in the event writeups that we produce after each one. Here’s a few links to the 2009, 2008 and 2007 event reviews. Don’t forget to check out the galleries while you’re there for some amazing pictures!
We feel it is worth reiterating the fact that, after paying all the bills to get this event set up in 2009, we managed to raise an astonishing £2766 for Cancer Research!! This was a 2.5 times increase over the 2008 event total and we really hope to beat that yet again in 2010!
The 3D Championship competition is a UK event (forever), and with 3D Masters being held abroad again this year, we find ourselves in the position of once again organising the biggest 3D competition in the UK. Although several independent people mentioned that this years event seemed to be attended by considerably more people than 3D Masters. Make of that what you will.
The night flying competition at last year’s event was a superb once again, and of course, we hope to repeat it yet again. It’s a serious crowd pleaser and great fun for the pilots too.
Sorry but 3D Championship 2010 is full. Apologies to anyone who missed out, but there’s always next year!
Good luck to all competitors!
